Fairview Park Early Education Learning Center
HOME OF THE CUBS

Back to District Home

In January 2008 the Fairview Park Early Education Learning Center, formerly known as the Coffinberry Early Education School, moved into the same building as the FPCS Board of Education Offices on Mastick Road.

The center is a unique asset to the district serving special education preschool and day care students. Enrollment at the center averages 160 day care/nursery school students and 30 special education preschool students.

The goal for pre-kindergarten students is to help students become comfortable in a school setting and prepare them to transition into elementary school. Students learn how to interact with their classmates and how to follow classroom rules by listening to their teachers. Academic focus is to teach students basic skills that will prepare them to read, write and do math. In addition, students are introduced to basic inquiry and discovery skills in Science and Social Studies.

The Child Care Program offers day care for children ages 18 months through five years; nursery school for children ages three to five years; before and after-school for grades K-6; and summer camp for ages 18 months through sixth grade.

The center's active PTA provides activities and programs for students and families including a visit from Jungle Terry, COSI, P.L.A.Y. Night (Project Literacy Awareness for Young Children) and more.
